Our Work

Projects That Move Communities Forward

Six projects from our portfolio — each one a government-grade engagement delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.

State Route 238 Widening & Improvements
Traffic Studies

State Route 238 Widening & Improvements

City of Maricopa, Arizona

Traffic impact analysis of proposed & likely adjacent development, intersection type & control alternatives (roundabouts or traffic signals), and intersection & traffic signal preliminary design for a 2-mile arterial expansion from two to four lanes with access control median & turn lanes.

Outcome

Analysis & Design accepted, and Project put out to Bid.

I-15 Farmington to Salt Lake City EIS
Traffic Studies

I-15 Farmington to Salt Lake City EIS

Utah Department of Transportation

Lead the traffic simulation modeling efforts for the I-15 Davis EIS. Simulation included a 17 mile VISSIM freeway model from Salt Lake City to Farmington, Utah to evaluate widening. It also included nine interchange VISSIM models to evaluate different interchange configuration for optimal type, lane requirements and storage lengths.

Outcome

Currently doing additional design work, coordination with local governments and other third parties such as utility companies, acquisition of necessary property, budget allocation, and identifying & hiring a project team to finalize and construct the project as soon as 2027.

20th Street HOV/BAT Lanes
Traffic Studies

20th Street HOV/BAT Lanes

City of Lake Stevens, WA

Lead the traffic operations microscopic simulation analysis and led the writing of the Traffic Analysis Report for the addition of a westbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV), and Business Access and Transit (BAT) lane on westbound 20th Street. The project provided an uncongested westbound lane so transit vehicles and high occupancy vehicles can bypass the long westbound queue in the AM peak period.

Outcome

Analysis & Design accepted, Project Constructed, and now open to traffic.

Clement Avenue Safety Improvements
Signal Design

Clement Avenue Safety Improvements

City of Alameda, California

Led the traffic signal modification design for the intersection of Clement Avenue and Park Street to accommodate a cycle track. Also designed the installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at the intersection of Clement Avenue and Broadway.

Outcome

Construction complete.

Hwy 29 / Grayson / Mills Intersection Redesign
Signal Design

Hwy 29 / Grayson / Mills Intersection Redesign

City of St. Helena, California

Led the traffic signal modification design for the intersection of State Route 29, Grayson Avenue, and Mills Lane (realigned), including a pre-signal before a railroad crossing. Also performed the railroad preemption calculations. This project was to upgrade a rural railroad crossing into a new modern safe railroad crossing to facilitate development.

Outcome

Development project approved, roadway & signal improvement plans approved, but construction has not started.

Monterey Road Signal Retiming
Signal Design

Monterey Road Signal Retiming

City of San Jose, California

Led the signal retiming of a six-mile corridor of Monterey Highway in San Jose, including retiming 24 signals with weekday AM peak, Midday, PM peak, and weekend timing plans. Recalculated yellow, all-red, and flashing don't walk intervals. Developed coordinated timing plans with shorter cycle lengths to reduce pedestrian delay, promote pedestrian mobility, and improve pedestrian safety — while minimally increasing vehicle travel time and emissions.

Outcome

Achieved shorter signal cycle lengths that reduced pedestrian delay and improved safety, while also reducing vehicle travel time, vehicle emissions, and greenhouse gas emissions along the corridor.

W Tangerine Rd Retail Development Traffic Impact Study
Transportation Planning

W Tangerine Rd Retail Development Traffic Impact Study

Town of Marana, Arizona

Performed a traffic impact study for a new retail development on W Tangerine Rd, in Marana, Arizona, to required city standards.

Outcome

Development approved but not yet constructed.

RV Campground Development Traffic Impact Study
Transportation Planning

RV Campground Development Traffic Impact Study

Arizona Department of Transportation — Camp Verde, Arizona

Performed a traffic impact study for a recreational vehicle campground development to Arizona Department of Transportation standards. Secured ADOT approval for an accelerated Traffic Impact Study methodology, review, and completion to meet the developer's deadline — and delivered the study accepted by ADOT on time.

Outcome

Obtained ADOT approval for accelerated TIS methodology and completed the study on time, meeting the developer's deadline.

Central Avenue Cycle Track Traffic Management Plan
Transportation Planning

Central Avenue Cycle Track Traffic Management Plan

City of Alameda, California

Developed a Traffic Management Plan for the construction of cycle track improvements along Central Avenue in Alameda, California. Complied with both City of Alameda and Caltrans requirements, as part of the street remains a Caltrans highway.

Outcome

Completed the Traffic Management Plan to the satisfaction of both the City of Alameda and Caltrans. Project partially completed construction.
